For sale is a 1955 Martin 000-18 that has lived a long, honest life and is being offered as a true vintage player’s guitar.

At some point long ago this guitar was fully oversprayed. Aside from the finish work, it remains all original. The result is a beautifully aged instrument with a smooth, consistent look and all the tonal character you expect from a mid-1950s Martin.

It plays well with low, comfortable action, but the saddle is currently quite low and the guitar is approaching the point where a neck reset will be needed in the future. There is one small pickguard crack that has been professionally repaired and is stable.

The sound is classic dry mahogany Martin — woody, open, and direct, with clear fundamentals and a sweet, airy top end that works beautifully for fingerstyle and light flatpicking.

It comes with a non-original hard shell case.
