For sale is an incredibly rare and visually stunning 2010 Martin 028VS that was custom-ordered with premium, exotic tonewoods and bespoke appointments that you simply will not find on production Martins.

This guitar features a breathtaking set of Amazon rosewood for the back and sides — a species that is now nearly unobtainable and widely regarded as one of the closest tonal relatives to old Brazilian. This particular set is exceptional, with rich color, dramatic grain, and enormous resonance. The top is Carpathian spruce, prized for its explosive responsiveness, complex overtones, and wide dynamic range.

The appointments are just as special. It has a blue paua torch inlay in the headstock and a matching paua rosette around the sound hole, paired with elegant herringbone trim around the body. The bridge pins, nut, and saddle are made from fossilized ivory and mammoth bone, adding both visual beauty and subtle tonal refinement.

Playability is outstanding and tailored for serious fingerstyle players. The nut width is a generous 1.89 inches, the neck depth at the nut is 0.84 inches, and the width at the 12th fret is 2.32 inches — offering incredible string spacing and comfort without feeling unwieldy.

This guitar comes with the original Martin hard shell case and all original paperwork and is in excellent condition. It is a true one-of-a-kind custom build made with woods and features that Martin can no longer source.
