This is a 1991 Gibson Les Paul Standard in very good condition, complete with the original hard case. It has just a few small dings here and there from honest use, but overall it’s a clean, great-looking guitar that has been well cared for and is ready to be played hard for the next few decades.

The early-’90s Les Paul Standards are widely regarded as one of the best modern eras Gibson ever produced, and for good reason. This was before heavy weight-relief and major cost-cutting changes, so these guitars have the solid, substantial feel and natural resonance that made the original bursts legendary. The necks from this period are comfortable and consistent, the build quality is high, and the materials and craftsmanship were simply better than what came later.

Plugged in, it delivers everything you want from a great Les Paul — thick, authoritative lows, a chewy and vocal midrange that makes lead lines sing, and a clear, biting top end that never gets harsh. Chords sound massive and harmonically rich, and single notes have that endless, blooming sustain that only a good Les Paul seems to have.

It plays beautifully up and down the neck, the frets are in great shape, and it just feels like a “right” guitar in your hands — resonant, lively, and inspiring.

If you’ve been looking for a real-deal early-’90s Standard from the era before Gibson started cutting corners, this is a fantastic example and one that will only become harder to find in this condition.
