Up for grabs is this gorgeous 1958 Les Paul Custom that plays and sounds fantastic.
-This guitar has 3 original PAFs that sound wonderful. The bridge pickup has sloppier solder than the other two, leading me to believe that the cover has been off of it at one point. The pickups are all original as are the covers.
-The electronics are all original, pots, caps, switch etc.
-The tuners are the original waffle back tuners, but this guitar appears to have had some other tuners on it at one point as there is a barely visible circle around each tuner from where larger washers used to be. The tuner holes were BARELY enlarged, but the original bushings fit just fine and no additional holes were drilled. The original tuners are back one, looking great with no gaps, holes or any unsightliness showing.
-The guitar has been refretted with medium frets, it plays great with low action and no buzz. The neck has no issues and no repairs and the truss rod works perfectly.
-Under a blacklight, there is some areas of discrepancy in the finish. (see photos) The bridge pickup volume knob has some different coloration as does the area where the arm rests. At first, they appeared to just be wear marks in heavy use areas, but I believe there may have been a repair where the volume knob is at one point. The arm rest area may have been lightly touched up at the same time. See the blacklight photos. The rest of the guitar black lights perfectly.
-The guitar comes with the original lifton case, the Tune O Matic manual from Gibson, some Gibson strings and a capo from the era. It weighs 9.2lbs on the dot.
