From the estate of an avid Mandolin collector, we are proud to offer this fantastic instrument for sale. This is the exceedingly rare Bill Monroe Signature F-5. Signed by Bill Monroe, Gibson only produced 200 of these little gems. This instrument is also signed by Steve Carlson of the Flatiron fame. As far as tone, well this is everything you could really ever want in a golden era F-5 build. Tons of projection and volume and an inspiring responsiveness and articulation. It is really just a joy to sit and play the day away on this little jewel! The mandolin is in excellent condition and was evidently not played out much if at all. There is some light fret wear in the lower register but the mandolin plays extremely well with low action and no buzzing. The finish is in excellent shape and the back is made of an exceptionally flamey maple. The mandolin comes with the original case and ships promptly and fully insured.
