Fender Super Amp 1960 – Brownface

$3,450.00

1 in stock

Here’s a beautiful and toneful piece of early Fender history — a 1960 Fender Super Amp.

This example is all original except for a few professionally replaced capacitors (performed for reliability and safe operation), with everything else — transformers, speakers, hardware, and cosmetics — remaining stock and correct. The cabinet label is missing, but the amp has been accurately dated using potentiometer and speaker codes, all consistent with 1960 production.

The original Jensen P10Q speakers are still present and sound absolutely fantastic — warm, articulate, and dynamic, with that unmistakable Fender shimmer on top. Plugging in, you’re greeted with the lush, touch-sensitive response that made the brownface Super a favorite among session players and tone purists alike: rich midrange presence, beautifully compressed breakup, and an organic, harmonically complex overdrive when pushed.

Cosmetically, the amp shows honest VERY light wear consistent with age but presents extremely well — the original brown tolex and oxblood grille cloth are in incredible shape, and the control panel retains clean silkscreen lettering. All in all, the amp is near mint.

A rare opportunity to own a 1960 Fender Super Amp that checks all the right boxes: original transformers, original speakers, period-correct components, and all the touch sensitivity and dimensional tone that define early brownface Fenders.
