What a great chance to get a great playing, classic Gretsch at an affordable price!

A true classic from the golden age of Gretsch, this 1959 6120 Chet Atkins Hollow Body captures everything that makes late-’50s Gretsch guitars so magical—resonant tone, vibrant style, and unmistakable character.

Finished in that iconic Western Orange lacquer, this 6120 exudes vintage appeal. The body shows some typical binding deterioration common to Gretsch guitars of this era, with a few home brew glued binding repairs. The neck binding has been professionally replaced and it feels and looks great. The pickup rings have been replaced as well, but aside from those updates, the guitar remains completely original throughout—including its wiring, hardware, and electronics. The neck is straight and the truss rod works great.

The original Filter’Tron pickups deliver that quintessential Gretsch sound: clear, open, and full of rich harmonic sparkle, with a touch of twang that’s pure rockabilly magic. The neck is straight and comfortable, the frets play cleanly, and the guitar feels lively and responsive in hand—everything you’d hope for from a late-’50s Gretsch.

Includes its original hardshell case, also in very good condition.

This 1959 Gretsch 6120 is a gorgeous vintage player with the authentic tone and look that define an era. Great playing, honest, and full of character—a good player grade example of one of the most iconic hollowbody guitars ever built, with all of the important stuff original and intact!
