Gibson L5-CES 1956 – Blonde – Refinished

This beautiful and rare L5CES from 1956 is an absolute joy to play! The original Alnico pickups and electronics provide that classic 50s tone, providing everything from Hank Garland country jazz, to Scotty Moore Rock and Roll tones for days! It plays wonderfully and has recently been refretted with period appropriate frets. At some point, the guitar was refinished and received new tuners, a Bigsby and a non original bridge. The refinish is very professional and looks and feels great. There is some sort of coloration in the finish down on the lower side. I’m not sure what is going on there, but it is quite inconspicuous and cannot be felt or seen while playing. This is a great chance to get a wonderful and rare model at a great price. These keep going up and are becoming quite unattainable. This one has all of the important stuff intact, the great pickups and the killer original flame maple and spruce. There is one repaired crack.
