Just in from the original owner! This thing is clean. According to the original owner, he played it in one band (according to him, they were terrible.) and then he put it under the bed! The condition certainly seems to confirm that. It is very clean with only VERY light wear. The frets are in great shape and the guitar is 100% original.

I’ve had a TON of these and they do seem to vary when it comes to how “dialed in” you can get them. This one was a dream to set up and it plays incredibly well with low action and is an absolute ripper with a nice substantial neck for the era. Just an absolute joy to play. Definitely one of the best playing ones I’ve had!

The tone on this Jaguar is killer! It has a bright and articulate top end that sparkles without becoming brittle. Each note rings with crisp clarity, yet there’s a subtle compression that keeps the highs smooth and musical. The short 24″ scale adds warmth and a percussive punch to the attack.

In the bridge position, this Jaguar is biting and wiry, perfect for surf tremolo picking or post-punk angular riffs — the kind of tone that slices through a mix but never feels harsh. Switch to the neck pickup and it becomes lush, woody, and mellow, with an almost vocal midrange that’s perfect for smoky rhythm work or ambient textures. Engage both pickups and you get a phasey shimmer, full of harmonic overtones.

Underneath it all, there’s a distinctive Jaguar resonance — short, fast, and punchy — that makes it feel alive in your hands. The tone has just enough grit to be raw, just enough sweetness to be refined, and just enough quirk to make it unforgettable.

This one is special. A genuine vintage pre CBS Jag, and one of the best we’ve had in. You won’t be disappointed. We have a 7 day inspection period, and I will happily accept returns. I am very confident that the buyer of this guitar is going to be very very happy with it!
